Opening: April 10th from 4 – 6 p.m.
The Dublin Prints is a suite of etchings by Professor Merijean Morrissey combining contemporary digital printing with the centuries old method of intaglio printing. The works are fictional narratives that use representations of ancient star maps with their astrological signs and contemporary maps made by NASA with the Advanced Camera for Surveys. The prints use these mapping devices to metaphorically address issues of emigration/migration in the past, as well as the present. The sea and the cosmos, with its various constellations, elide to form a multi-layered reading of history and memory.
This is a free community event. Held at the Sean O'Sullivan Theatre Lobby.
